About CoCOLRS

The Collaborative COVID-19 Literature Review Synopses (CoCOLRS) Team is comprised of a small panel of editors, many article reviewers, a digest development team, and a database coordinator. Editors include physicians who assign articles or journals to specific subject-matter appropriate reviewers. Editors also review summaries and digests for completeness, objectiveness, and accuracy. Article reviewers consist of subject matter experts (as possible), medical officers, researchers, physicians, and trainees. Emphasis is placed on minimizing opinion and commentary, but reviewers are encouraged to highlight limitations and methodological issues and contextualize research as appropriate, especially for non-peer reviewed pre-print articles.

Articles for the CoCOLRS database are also sourced from Tulane University’s COVID-19 Digest, an email-based curated collection of research and research-relevant news. PubMed, major journals, pre-print servers, and reputable news sources are combed by Tulane’s team, with the most relevant and timely pieces summarized and put into context (including limitations and next steps) with links to the source material. Research and summaries are prepared by the Editor and a team of scientists and trainees. Research and summaries are prepared by the Editor and PhD students.

The CoCOLRS database does not provide specific clinical or public health guidance, does not represent any specific public health view or opinion, and is not endorsed by any one institution. The primary literature referenced should always be reviewed; summaries cannot and do not capture all of the nuances of any article.

CoCOLRs is a collaborative database with core contributors from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Tulane University, the University of California, Davis, as well as routine reviewers from Stanford University and the University of California, San Francisco.
